Cameupinthedrought MS Paint Mirror

Ad Campaign

Cameupinthedrought, better known as Drought, is a brand focused of fracturing reality through innovative takes on pop culture products in the streetwear and home goods spaces. They approached us to build a grungy 90's style bedroom with niche references to the era and the technology surrounding the Microsoft suite to highlight their new product, a MS Paint style mirror with the program's tool bar framing the product.

The Catch:  We build this as a free standing structure in the middle of a dry lake bed, called Harper Lake.  The ground is dusty, dry and cracked. The winds are strong and loud. As well the sun is intensely beaming down on the crew.

The project was initially planned to be a photo campaign for their social media platforms and to be used as supplementary web content for the release of the product on their website.  This was a good idea, however due to the nature of the setting and setup, everyone decided a narrative video ad would be the perfect solution to showcase the absurdity of the set being on such a remote location as this dry lake bed.

The story briefly follows the model ferociously searching through physical files being blow around a rapid pace looking for "the file", which contains the MS Paint file needed to open the program tool bar as a mirror on the wall.
